Holiday Lecture for Children and Parents

Howard Stone created and presented the fifth Annual Holiday Lecture to the general public at Harvard University. As a theme he choose candles: They illustrate scientific principles for children and their parents. The program was titled "Science by Candlelight" (see figure). More than 700 people attended two performances in December 2006, and a repeat show is planned for April 2007. The lecture was prepared in collaboration with Megan Walbran (RET), a physics teacher at Westwood Public High School, Daniel Rosenberg from the Science Center staff, and Kathryn Hollar, the education coordinator of the Harvard MRSEC.
