The MRSEC is operating a new shared experimental facility for rheology that offers three rheometers from TA Instruments, Inc. and three from Malvern Instruments (shown above) to study the visco-elastic properties of materials. The facility offers both stress-controlled and strain-controlled rheometers. Importantly, the acquisition of these instruments was supported by a gift from Schlumberger Limited and through in-kind donations from the TA Instruments and Malvern. Schlumberger has moved its research laboratory to Cambridge and supports ongoing Center research in addition to making this equipment gift to the Center. This further leverages our support from the National Science Foundation.
