Fionnuala Connolly is a graduate student in the Applied Mathematics program at Harvard's John A. Paulson School of Engineering and Applied Sciences. She received her undergraduate education in Applied Mathematics at the National University of Ireland, Galway. Her current research focuses on modeling soft pneumatic actuators for soft robotics. Fionnuala is co-advised by MRSEC faculty members, Conor Walsh and Katia Bertoldi, on an IRG3 project using analytical modeling and finite element analysis to develop design guidelines for soft actuators, with the goal of accelerating the design process for these actuators.
