New Method for 3D Printing Soft Multimaterials "On Demand"

November 13, 2019

This method enables the rapid design and fabrication of voxelated matter, which is an emerging paradigm for the field of materials science. We are now able to locally control the materials composition, structure, and properties in each volume element within the printed object. Using our broad palette of functional, structural, and biological inks, multiple materials with disparate properties, such as rigid and flexible elastomers, can now be seamlessly integrated into complex soft materials and devices on-demand.
