David Weitz was awarded the 2024 Bower Award from the Franklin Institute for his achievements in soft matter physics. George Whitesides was awarded the 2022 Kavli Prize in Nanoscience for his pioneering discoveries in self-assembled monolayers (SAMs). Frans Spaepen received the 2023 Staudinger-Durrer Medal from ETH Zurich for his seminal work in colloidal materials. Jennifer Lewis was awarded a 2023 Honorary degree from École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) for her work in digital assembly. Federico Capasso was named a 2023 Citation Laureate for his research in photonics and metasurfaces. These renowned scholars imbue their passion for scientific creativity and discovery by inspiring young researchers in the Center to become the next generation of leaders in academe and industry.
