International Soft-Matter Workshops
Dutch Soft Matter Days

As Harvard MRSEC alumni have moved to other institutions, new soft-matter workshops, spawned from the original and ongoing quarterly New England Complex Fluids (NECF) meetings, are now continuing across the nation. These community building workshops have gone international with the Dutch Soft Matter Days now held twice a year in the Netherlands bringing together the academic and industrial communities there. The Dutch Soft Matter Days is spearheaded by Fred MacKintosh (Amsterdam, top left); Harvard MRSEC alumni, Peter Schall (Amsterdam, top left); and Hans Wyss (Eindhoven, lower left). The 16th Dutch Soft Matter Days is scheduled for May 2014 featuring an invited talk by Harvard MRSEC alumnus Itai Cohen (Cornell) along with the popular student sound bite sessions (top right).
